After receiving numerous mortgage refinance offers I decided to give my local credit union a try. An advisor from a large national lender was almost able to match their rate but not quite. He told me that I should also consider customer service and the time it takes to close as part of my decision, saying credit unions are notoriously slow. I disregarded his advice and went with Mortgage Markets Cuso. The facts are that my initial contact was an easy online app and I received a call back almost immediately and their agent was wonderful. All of my interactions with their staff at every step were pleasant and efficient, and I was able to do almost everything electronically. As far as processing time goes my initial contact was Jan 29 and my closing took place on February 27. This is my third mortgage closing and it has been far and away the best experience I've had. 100% recommended thanks to this wonderful staff!
